The LACCD CalWORKs program strives to assist college
students by offering work-study, job placement assistance,
child care, special project event coordination, and,
under certain conditions, post-employment skills training
and educational guidance services. Child care is a critical
component to ensuring the success of CalWORKs students
while they attend community college and participate
in work-based learning activities. The LACCD CalWORKs
program holds District-wide meetings in order to share
information between the District and amongst the District
colleges so that the provision of services is continually
improved.

for the CalWORKS program. This event is part
of an EWD Office strategy to help District programs
expand awareness of the Accreditation process
and promote information-sharing between college
and District staff in order to elevate the continuous
quality improvement movement. The workshop was
supported by the District Office and approved
along with College-based CalWORKS Directors.
